Join Us for Ice on Fire, Central Vermont's Winter Festival!
Come one, come all to this wonderful festival, celebrating the warmth of community in the depths of winter!
Dance, theater, music, storytelling, and poetry performed by local artists and community members, winter games, kids activities and hot food and drink to warm the soul. All activities are outdoors.

Ice on Fire 2026 will be held on Sunday February 1, 2026, 2 - 5pm at Montpelier Country Club, 203 Country Club Road.
Hot drinks and snacks, Storytelling, games, performances, and activities for all! Please bring mugs for hot drinks. Admission/suggested donation: $10/person, no one turned away for lack of funds. Donate here.
Please bring your friends and family, but kindly leave your dogs at home.
Drop off your Christmas Trees at the Country Club parking lot from Dec 26 - Jan 30. Follow the signs at the end of the parking lot.

- Join the Parks crew to set up for Ice on Fire! - Fridays, Jan 16, 23 &30. 10am-12pm & 1-3pm
- Tasks will include setting up the festival area with Christmas trees, building igloos, setting up winter games, and much more. We will provide all tools and direction. Dress warmly and wear good winter boots and gloves. An indoor area with bathrooms will be available. Feel free to show up for any length of time.
- Dance with Lucada Me'lange from NYC - Saturday Workshop & Sunday Performance in the East Village - all are welcome Lucada Mélange No. 2 "The Uprooteds" Workshop--Flyer
- Be a part of the Festivities - Sing, Join in the opening procession, carry puppets, perform, dance, tell a story.. Contact us for details.
Schedule of the Day
- 11:00 - 12:00 ~ Procession Set Up - Volunteers welcome
- 12:30 -1:30 ~ Singing Rehearsal - Join in learning the songs!
- 1:30 ~ Parade line up - Everyone is invited to join in the procession: Singing, Music making, Costumes, Puppets.
- 2pm ~ Procession and Opening Ceremony
- 2:30 - 4:30 ~ Games, Stories, Performances, Songs, Food, Merriment
- 4:30 ~ Closing Ceremony, fire spinning, and Bonfire!
